FILM
Film is one of the best choices of acquisition formats. Benefits are the
overall look and color saturation as well as smooth speed changes and
slow motion. Drawbacks are cost. Film must be developed and transferred
to tape for editing. In the film format we feature Arriflex 35mm, Arriflex
16mm and 8mm film packages.

VIDEO
Video is the most economical choice in acquiring footage. Today we have
many choices in videotape formats. The formats at the high end rival the
film look. Side Effects has chosen a mix of video packages covering the
higher end of the current formats. Our video packages include broadcast
Sony BetaSP, Sony DVCAM and Panasonic 24p DV. High Definition camera
support packages are available upon request.

MOTION
GRAPHICS
The next time you watch TV, movies or a video, take note of anything
that's not part of the show (the video or film). That's graphics. Still
or motion. Some incorporating video images, 2D and 3D. Graphics play
a huge role in pulling it all together. Motion graphics help to bring
your show or commercial to a professional level. Side Effects Productions
uses three graphics stations with various professional broadcast software
and hardware to produce the same effects you see on TV and in other
media.

EDIT
SUITE
Side Effects
Productions has upgraded (in 2004) to the latest built-in, non-linear,
online/offline broadcast edit suites, which are networked to three graphics
bays and a sound booth. Side
Effects Productions Edit Bays are Broadcast uncompressed video. Digital
and Analog inputs.
Edit
Bay formats: Sony BetaSP, Sony Digital DVCAM & DV, Sony S-VHS and
VHS.
Output
to: Sony BetaSP, Sony Digital DVCAM & DV, Sony S-VHS and VHS, CD,
DVD and MPEG’s.
Projects
can be output to format for webstreaming in Realplayer, Windows Media
and QuickTime formats.
AUDIO PRODUCTION
The
Side Effects productions studio is equipped with a sound booth for narration,
voice-over, radio spots or radio programs. The booth is treated to absorb
sound bounce and provide a rich recording. Wired to the network, the
recording can be sent to any of three audio workstations for effects,
cleanup or editing. Our audio workstations are also used for online
digital music composition for original scoring and custom sound effects.
